Aswan where in the 1970s a dam was built to ensure the availability of water to
the fertile Nile Delta at all times. As
a result of building this dam, some of the ancient temples had to be moved to
higher ground to preserve them for posterity.
This is where you will board the Nile
cruiser that will take you down the river, ultimately arriving in Luxor. There is much to see there ever since
Egyptologists started excavating.
